Facilities Manager
Full-time salaried position with excellent benefits; $55,000+ (based on experience)
Seeking and individual with experience in managing a building/facility, supervising and scheduling staff, who also has general handyman skills. Importantly, the candidate is also expected to perform the same duties as those under his/her supervision.
This is a full-time, daytime, salary position that requires occasional weekend hours; specifically weekends during the 12-week horseracing season (mid-Feb thru mid-May), plus working one weekend (two half-days) roughly every five weeks the remainder of the year. A few days/hours of work throughout the year beyond a standard workweek may be necessary. Depending on the season, work begins either at 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. (earlier on snow removal days).
You will routinely drive/operate a riding and/or walk-behind floor sweeper. It is a plus if you have knowledge of simple plumbing or carpentry skills. You will be expected to use hand tools and power tools. You would be needed for grass-cutting and painting in the summer and snow shoveling in the winter, plus additional outside maintenance and repair work as needed. There will be occasions you will need to set-up or tear-down tables & chairs and livestock pens, and haul trash to a dumpster. Periodic heavy lifting (over 50lbs) should be expected. This is not the complete list of duties that are part of the position.
As a Facility Manager you will be responsible for: attending weekly staff meetings; corresponding with staff and management via face-to-face, phone, email, text and apps; issuing and maintaining any necessary training for Facilities staff members; meeting and communicating with businesses providing service to our facility; keeping records of scheduled and unscheduled facility services and be the Fonner Park liaison with all businesses providing services to the many buildings on our facility.
You must be self-motivated and pay attention to detail. If you do not want to embrace our facility with as much care that you apply to your house and family, this job is not for you. If you have good references, a good work ethic and pride in working at an iconic multi-purpose facility and campus - and you have plans for a long-term employment commitment, please express your interest.
