Restaurant Assistant Manager

The primary objective of this position is to oversee daily dining operations to ensure high service standards, staff efficiency, and profitability while also providing crucial operational support during high-profile local events. Daily responsibilities include supervising front-of-house staff, managing schedules, training personnel, monitoring inventory, handling cash, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and liquor liability regulations.


In addition to day-to-day restaurant management, the role demands heavy operational and supervisory support during peak periods, specifically the live horse racing season. During these times, the coordinator manages high-volume service areas, premium hospitality seating, and temporary staff across multiple dining and track venues while overseeing comprehensive bar and alcohol service operations. Furthermore, this position handles food and beverage logistics for diverse events at Grand Island Expo Events and Livestock, which involves managing catering, concessions, point-of-sale efficiency, and full bar fulfillment across various event spaces and banquet rooms.


To qualify for this position, candidates must have proven experience in restaurant supervision, high-volume hospitality, or event beverage management. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a deep understanding of bar operations and responsible alcohol service standards. Because the venue operates around busy event schedules and racing calendars, the ideal candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
